Who is Leading the Trip?

Don and Ele Parrott have served on a local church pastoral staff, led and served on many short-term missions’ trips, provided training and pastoral care in multiple countries, served as overseas missionaries in Latin America, and served as leaders of two missions organizations. Together they have been missions mobilizers for the past several years and now serve as the principle teachers for The Journey Deepens.  Don and Ele reside in Arizona.

Bob Pittman has served at Faith Academy in the Philippines as a Math teacher and Secondary Principal. He helped to start Hillcrest International School in Indonesia, serving as the founding Principal and then Director when HIS merged with Sentani International School. He also served as the International Coordinator for SIL International for many years. He is now the Director for TeachNext. Bob lives in Florida. 


Dave Estill spent 30 years in the US Air Force, including over three years in Panama where he became well acquainted with Crossroads Bible Church and Crossroads Christian Academy.   As Assistant City Manager for the Air Force bases, Dave implemented the first Military Community Youth Ministry contract for the Department of Defense in Panama.  Since retiring, Dave has served in a variety of positions at MissionNext involving daily operations, IT and the MissionNext Board.  He and his wife Barbara live in Arizona.

Dan and Jess Cotton.  Dan is founder and director of Casa Paraiso and Rio Missions Panama. Jess takes care of administrative and facility reservations. Together they care for the facility and the teams staying at Casa Paraiso.  Originally from New Jersey, they exercise their amazing gift of hospitality in the cause of Christ.  Every year they host numerous groups visiting the Panama City area.  Dan and Jess have both taught at CCA.  They have lived a total of 12 years in Panama.  

Beth Almack has served with her family as Director at Crossroads Christian Academy (CCA) for 4 years.  Prior to becoming Director, she served for 3 years as the Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator at CCA.  Beth and her family served in Madrid, Spain, at Evangelical Christian Academy for 10 years prior to arrival in Panama. 

Beth received her Masters degree in Educational Administration from Columbia International University, in Columbia, SC, and her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Bryan College.  Beth and her family feel called to ministry and see education as a critical tool for reaching the world for Christ.

Lisa Harrill has served at Crossroads Christian Academy with her husband David, since 1999.  She also has served as the Director of Children's Ministries at Crossroads Bible Church since 2013.  Lisa received her Masters in Educational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma OK and her Bachelor's Degree in Music from Wheaton College, IL.  Lisa considers Panama her home.  She has lived in the former Panama Canal Zone since 1972. Lisa is quick to say serving the Lord together with David and her two children, Jacob and Eva, is unexpected miracle of God's grace.
