In July 2002 after much prayer and discussion
God directed us to end the
Heartland MissionsFest in order to launch Missions Focus Int'l and a series of
weekend retreats: The Journey Deepens.
From 1990 through 2001 we held ten Heartland MissionsFests for senders, short-termers and prospective long-term missionaries. The last conference was in February 2001. Now we believe that God wants us to focus on this latter group with a series of weekend retreats in different parts of the U.S. Each weekend will include about 50 missionary “wannabes” and five experienced missionaries from various agencies.
As before, this will be coordinated by our same volunteer network of area churches and ministries. The MissionsFocus organization brings together Baptists, Charismatics, Methodists, Pentecostals and Presbyterians.
We pray that the Lord of the harvest will use this retreat to thrust forth laborers into His harvest fields around the world. For more visit The Journey Deepens.
P.S. Though these retreats are only for
those interested in long-term missions we are glad to point those with
